For Approximately 5 to 10 percent of these women, their cancers were handed down from generation to generation. They have the hereditary form of the disease. Changes, called mutations, in their genes made them at extreme risk for developing both breast and ovarian cancer. Breast and ovarian cancer maybe linked together. Inherited alterations in the genes called BRCA1 and BRCA2 are responsible for many of Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer cases- HBOC.

For over a decade there has been a blood test available that can help your physician figure out if you belong to one of these families.

Today it is estimated that less than 10% of women that should have this test done have been properly counseled. Women need to know! Men too!

This website is not about one person. It’s about two groups of people. The first, a group of people who over time have come together, have united, to save their own lives, the lives of acquaintances, friends and families through education. Each individual has their own unique histories and they made it their mission to reach out by telling their stories. The second group is the target group - the group that will heed the message.

This website has only one agenda. It’s about educating, helping, saving, getting the word out to the families that are at risk for HBOC so they may benefit from it. Every time stories are told, lives are improved and lives are saved.
